Day 1: Arrival and Sunset Introduction to Rincón

Start your Rincón adventure with a low-key day to soak in the island vibes and unwind after your travels.

• Morning/Afternoon: Arrive, get settled, and check into a cozy boutique hotel or beachside rental that gives you that perfect island feel. There are a few airports near Rincon, Puerto Rico, but the closest is Aguadilla (BQN) served by a few airlines, including Jet Blue and United. Taking a smaller flight from San Juan into Mayaguez (MAZ) on CapeAir is another great option.
• Late Afternoon: Head into downtown Rincón to explore the town. If you’re visiting on a weekend, don’t miss the Rincón Art Walk on Thursday afternoons, where you can grab some local treats, jewelry, and art.  There is a Sunday morning Farmers Market in the same location that is fantastic as well.

• Evening: Finish up your first day at the iconic Rincón Lighthouse, Faro de Punta Higüera, for a stunning sunset over Domes Beach. The view is unforgettable, and it’s a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike, and in the winter you may even catch a glimpse of the whales.

• Dinner: Head to La Cambija, a local gem that serves some of the freshest seafood around. You’ll love the relaxed vibe and delicious food—a great way to start your Rincon adventure.

Day 2: Beach Day and Surf Lessons

This is your day of sun, surf, and seaside fun on Day 2 of your 5 Day Rincón itinerary.

• Morning: Time to hit the beach! Sandy Beach is the perfect spot for beginner surf lessons, so if you’ve ever wanted to try surfing, this is the place. If you’d rather watch – then grab a coffee and enjoy the lively beach scene.  Parking areas are available all along the road – and don’t forget the sunscreen!
• Afternoon: Keep it chill by staying on Sandy Beach, where you can rent a paddleboard or snorkel gear from Rincon Paddle Boards (they even deliver right to you!). There’s plenty to do, and the vibe is relaxed, making it easy to spend the whole day here.
• Lunch: For lunch, grab something casual at Tamboo. Their menu is filled with delicious beachside fare, and you can enjoy a tropical drink while soaking up the views.

• Evening: Head to Steps Beach, a quieter spot known for its clear water and beautiful marine life. Bring your snorkel gear, as this is one of the best places to see the vibrant underwater world. End the day with a peaceful sunset over the ocean.

Day 3: Adventure Day – Caves and Waterfalls

Today, get ready to experience Puerto Rico’s natural beauty beyond the beaches. You’ll take a little day trip that’s worth every moment.

• Morning: Start your adventure by visiting Cueva Ventana (Window Cave), a natural cave offering panoramic views of the Arecibo Valley. A short hike leads to breathtaking views, and you’ll feel like you’re discovering a secret side of the island.
• Afternoon: Next up is Gozalandia Waterfalls in San Sebastián. This spot is about an hour from Rincon, but it’s a must-visit. (I recommend the upper set of Falls first – they have a rope swing! The descent to the swimming areas are steep so bring shoes that grip.) The waterfall pool is perfect for a refreshing swim, and it’s an ideal place to capture some amazing photos. OR check out Tanama River Cave tubing for an Eco Guided tour that is a truly unique experience.

• Lunch/Dinner: On your way back to Rincón, stop at a local eatery in San Sebastián for some authentic Puerto Rican flavors. Or, if you’re feeling like a scenic dinner, head to The English Rose in Rincón for a farm-to-table meal with a gorgeous view. (Hot Tip: This is a fantastic place for breakfast as well!)

Day 4: Island Wildlife and Scenic Spots

On Day 4, dive into Rincón’s natural beauty with a day that’s all about wildlife and scenic island spots.

• Morning: Start with a snorkeling or scuba tour from Black Eagle Marina. Rincón’s reefs are full of colorful fish, coral, and even sea turtles if you’re lucky. There’s a real sense of magic in exploring the underwater world here.
• Lunch: Refuel at Jack’s Shack across from Pool’s beach, where you can enjoy delicious fresh tacos and walk across the street for an ocean picnic while watching the waves and maybe a few surfers. The beachside setting makes it one of Rincón’ most popular food truck spots.

• Afternoon: After a morning on the water, check out the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve. If you’re up for a little stroll, there is a walking trail (Paseo Comunitario Tres Palmas) here.  If you want a mild hike, El Faro is another excellent spot. Check out the Camino el Faro Trail for photos and coastal views.

• Evening: If you’re interested in the local art scene, check to see if there’s a live music event or art show happening that night.  Thursday night, check out the Art Walk in downtown Rincón – Rincón has a great community of artists, and it’s a fun way to spend your evening while supporting local creatives.  Grab dinner at La Copa Llena, and if you can make a reservation for sunset – this will be one of the most spectacular sunset dinners you’ve experienced.

Day 5: Relaxation and Farewell

It’s your final day, so let’s wind down with some well-deserved relaxation. This day is all about recharging before heading home.

• Morning: Treat yourself to a little pampering at a local wellness spa or yoga studio (check out Centro La Paz or Barefoot Yoga & Ayurveda) . Many places offer beachfront yoga sessions that are the perfect way to relax while enjoying the last of the island’s beauty.
• Afternoon: Grab lunch with a view at the Beach House, where you can enjoy delicious food and cocktails while admiring the scenic vista.
• Last Stop: Before you leave, pick up a souvenir from a local artisan shop. It’s a lovely way to take a piece of Rincón home with you, whether it’s handmade jewelry or a piece of artwork.

• Evening: Wrap up your Rincón trip with a final sunset stroll along the beach, reflecting on the amazing time you’ve had.
